Intermittent Fasting (IF)

After some research on IF, I decided that I would give it go. So from 6 pm Saturday to 6 am Tuesday I fasted by consuming high fat beverages in the form of  bulletproof coffee (butter and cream) and water through out the 36 hours.

Then this morning at 6 am (Tuesday) I broke the fast with super charged coffee (2 egg yolks, 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp cream). It was pretty good and I couldn’t taste the yolks.  It kept me full until 8:30 where I had another bullet proof coffee.

The trick to making the supercharged coffee is to blend all the ingredients first and then add the coffee in a thin stream so as not to create egg drop coffee.

I think I will do a 24 hour fast once a week at first, I currently do a 12/12 fast and didn’t know that’s what I was doing until I researched IF, then work towards 16/8, 20/4 seems a little extreme but from the results I see people getting, it’s worth considering at least.

In the past, fasting used to freak me out. I’ve tried fasting but always broke down after 2-4 hours. I couldn’t get passed the hunger and the cravings. But now that my thinking about food is changing, I don’t see it the same way as before. Food isn’t the reward or punisher it used to be.

Food really is just fuel for the body.
